Apps to Help the Average Content Creator

By: Juliet Nabinger

We all want our content to stand out, but we’re not all experienced graphic designers. Luckily there are some fantastic tools to help. Instagram Stories can be a helpful tool to boost engagement, highlight projects, and make followers more familiar with your business and services. However, it can be challenging to stand out from the crowd and find your unique Instagram Story style. There are several apps out there that we find super helpful for quick, professional-looking graphics that a novice can create with easy-to-use interfaces.

Your days of struggling to include show-stopping edits into your Instagram Stories and social media posts are over! We love the app Mojo, which is an app that helps you create eye-catching social media stories that will engage your audience. You can edit multiple free templates with your photos then upload them to your social media platform of choice. The templates include fades, gallery views, and frames that you can customize for a personal or professional look. You can even use Mojo to help establish the voice of your brand!

We find this application so quick and easy to use that even while writing this, I chose a template on Mojo, edited the text, and uploaded it to my personal Instagram Story in under a minute.

If you’re looking for a simple photo editor, we like Adobe Lightroom. With Lightroom, you can easily edit your photos and make them look like they were shot with expensive equipment, as opposed to your phone. You can edit the contrast, optics, temperature, tint, and many more features. This app is great for people that don’t have extensive knowledge of editing but want their Instagram photos to have a cohesive look.

Want to go beyond social media? With Canva, you can produce unique and eye-catching presentations, flyers, business cards, and social media posts using their hundreds of free templates. Canva takes the time and headache out of crafting and editing logos and presentations. As a student, I’ve used Canva to create engaging presentations that look professional and show off my research while not distracting from my oral presentations. Businesses can take advantage of Canva’s templates to help inspire creators using their branding and also create social media posts.

We find these apps to help create strong visual materials without needing to have a deep understanding of graphic design. Mojo and Canva make it easy and stress-free. Have you tried Mojo or Canva? What exciting content did you create?
